Janjecic
George and Deane Janjecic’s indoor G-Scale railroad is a 22 ft. by 22 ft. basement layout with two main lines. Each main line has a small yard. Two trains can run on each main line simultaneously using DCC control with DCC BitSwitch automation. The railroad services the town of Pug Park which has many custom made residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. All of the buildings are lit using an outdoor low voltage transformer and a series of over thirty 3 watt bulbs. The period of the layout is the late 1940s.
The railroad has a large mountain in one corner that was made using polyurethane foam and rock molds. Both main lines tunnel through this mountain after passing over a deep canyon via trestles. There is a large hotel on the top of the mountain that is accessed by a working LGB tram. The railroad is serviced by a LGB 2-4-0 switcher, a LGB 0-4-0 switcher, a LGB Forney, 2 Aristo Craft C16’s, and a small LGB diesel switcher. There is one passenger train with six cars and five freight trains that are between four and six cars in length. The railroad is highly detailed with working street lights, roads and bridges, lots of working people, and many period vehicles. All of the engines are equipped with sound systems.
